Johnson Takes 1st in 3000m at RICTA Invitational

SRA junior Reilly Johnston had a stellar run at the RITCA invitational on Saturday, December 23. He ran the 3,000-meter race, ending with a last-minute surge of energy to finish with a 9:02.77 time, a new personal best over his last time of 9:34.13.

The time not only put Reilly in first place in the state in that event, besting runners from La Salle Academy and Bishop Hendricken, but it also currently ranks as the 4th fastest time for the 3000-meter in the country, according to the running website MileSplit RI.

Reilly, who lives in East Providence, also runs cross country for Saint Raphael Academy.
