Saint Raphael Academy Welcome to the Saints family. Welcome home.

It's Saints Olympics Time!

March 7, 2019

It’s Saint Raphael Academy’s favorite time of year – Saints Olympics Week! Saints Olympics is a time for students to have a little fun and do some charitable giving! Each day is a special themed dress down day, and points are given for students participating. Any student dressed exceptionally in the spirit of the day will be awarded extra points for their class.

A major focus of Saints Olympics is giving back to help those less fortunate from our local community. Throughout the week, students are asked to bring in items to support various charities. The charities chosen this year are Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, Providence Rescue Homeless Shelter and St. Mary’s School in Kenya, our sister school. See below for details about what items to bring.

A Word on Saints Olympics Attire:
Students cannot wear masks or clothing that will negatively impact the school day. A student dressed inappropriately will be asked to change and their grade will lose 50 points. Students must wear their school uniform if they choose not to participate.

Saints Olympics Charities

Classes earn points for Saints Olympics for their charitable giving. This year, the Saints family will be supporting these worthy causes:

Providence Rescue Homeless Shelter
Students should bring in:
• Socks, hats, gloves, T-shirts, scarves, pants, hoodies = 1 point per item
• Soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, mouthwash, toothbrushes = 1 point (travel size), 2 points (full size)
• Pair of new or used shoes or sneakers = 5 points

Pawtucket Soup Kitchen
Bring in non-perishable food items that will be distributed to guests of the soup kitchen, where many of our students donate their time. Students should bring:
• Canned goods = 2 points
• Pasta = 2 points
• Peanut butter = 2 points (small jar), 3 points (large jar)
• Cereal = 5 points

Saint Mary’s School, Kenya
This is our “sister school” that we support every year during Saints Olympics with Coin Wars! Students can donate coins in their grade’s container in the East cafeteria. Class points are awarded based on highest participation. All bills dropped into a class container will count against that class’ total. Yes, this is when the classic coin drive becomes Coin Wars!
