Gaboriault Awarded St. Timothy Award

March 6, 2019

Emily Gaboriault, senior at Saints, was honored with an award from the Diocese of Providence at the Catholic Youth Ministry Awards Ceremony last week at the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul. She was Saint Raphael Academy’s nominee for the St. Timothy Award, the highest national youth ministry award a Catholic youth can receive. This award is given to selected youths based on their integrity, leadership and service.

“Emily puts the needs of others before her own. No matter what may be happening in her own life, she responds to the needs of others first. She cares deeply for others and strives to make the world around her a better place,” said Pastoral Services Director Stephen Vargas.

Emily, a resident of Central Falls, is involved in many activities at Saint Raphael Academy. She has been a class officer all four years at the Academy and is school president this year. Emily is also active in Lasallian Youth and is a peer minister. She is a founding member of the Recycling Club and has participated in the Drama Club, Liturgical Choir and dance team. She volunteers at the Pawtucket Soup Kitchen, at SRA open houses, the Good Friday Walk, and Special Olympics. Emily is a communicant of St. Jude Church in Lincoln.

Emily plans to study international politics and American studies in college in preparation for a future career in politics.
